Recycling & impact

Built to last.

Designed to return. Recycled materials, compostable packaging, free return program. Our approach in figures and commitments.

A charger shouldn't end up in the trash.

Most electronic accessories are designed to last 18 months. Ours are designed to last for years — and when they reach the end of their life, we take care of them.

Here is how we try to do better. Concretely, measurably, without greenwashing.

Our commitment

Built to last. Designed to return.

Recycled materials, compostable packaging, free return program. We take back all our end-of-life chargers.

From raw material to a second life.

From raw material to a second life.

The full life cycle of a Les Petits Chargeurs charger — from raw material to a second life.

We bet that a charger could be beautiful, built to last, and recyclable. Not a disposable item.

Return program

Send it back. We thank you.

Is your charger at the end of its life or no longer in use? Send it back to us for free. We disassemble it, recover reusable components (coils, magnets, electronics), and recycle whatever can be recycled.

In exchange: a 15% voucher to use on your next order. (Voucher, not a cash refund.) Request a return label at info@lespetitschargeurs.com.

Materials

Bio-sourced. Traceable. Recyclable.

Bio-sourced PLA — bioplastic made from French corn and beet starch. Industrially compostable, biodegradable in 80 years in a natural environment (vs 450+ years for petroleum-based plastic).

Neodymium magnets — 100% recyclable. We collect those from end-of-life chargers and resell them to our manufacturing partners.

Coil copper — collected and remelted at a partner facility in France.

Raw kraft cardboard — unbleached, plastic-free. 100% compostable packaging.

What is bio-based PLA?

A bioplastic made from corn or sugar beet starch (fermented sugar). Unlike petroleum-based plastic, it breaks down in nature in 80 years (vs. 450+ years) and is industrially compostable at 60°C.

Are returns really free?

Yes. We email you a prepaid Colissimo return label. Place the charger in any packaging, attach the label, and drop it off at a post office. Shipping costs are on us.

What happens to my charger after it is returned?

We disassemble it in our workshop. Functional coils + magnets + electronics = resold to our production partners (reuse). PLA = locally composted. Metals = remelted.

Is the CO₂ footprint certified?

Our calculation method complies with the standard GHG Protocol (international reference). Carbon offsets via ADEME-certified programs (Low Carbon Label) — French reforestation projects + renewable energy.

Question, audit, partnership?

We document everything: carbon footprints, certifications, material traceability. We gladly share with schools, journalists, NGOs, auditors.
